Finally Spring is here, and what a way it has started. With all the talk about the warmer weather coming, the environment and all those things that give us some warm fuzzies on the inside. We thought we’d spend this newsletter showcasing what we do to help the Environment and the Community here at KDelme Hairdressing in Miranda, Sutherland Shire
So with no further ado…..
Premium Organic Loose Leaf Teas
We have always wanted to provide our clients with that little something special. This week we have introduce our Premium Organic Loose Leaf Teas to the salon. To be honest these teas are divine, with a smoother and truer flavour that what we have been finding from your standard tea bag.
Below are the first in many new teas that we’ll be introducing, and yes this is what they all actually look like.
But not only are these new teas Organic, the supplier also has a strong sense of assisting the community, which is one of the major reasons we have joined with them.
With 10% of every purchase being donated to:
KEVIN.MURPHY & PETA
This sense of community awareness, is the main reason that we took on the hair care brand Kevin.Murphy 6 years ago.
With his (Yes Kevin Murphy is a real person) beliefs in that the products should be Cruelty Free, with Naturally Sustainable ingredients. As well as supporting the Culture is Life Foundation to improve the social and emotional well being of young people in the Indigenous community.
Last but not least is Sustainable Salons. Within our industry, we produce a lot of waste products, between the chemicals, the aluminium foil, the cardboard and paper, and finally the plastics. It’s rubbish bags full every day.
The company Sustainable Salons, has turned this on it’s head, giving us a way to recycle up to 95% of all the waste we produce. All our foil, tubes, styling and hair care bottles/tubs, all cardboard/paper and plastics are recycled, with all money raised for these recycling efforts donated to the charities below.
All our cut of hair is turned into booms to assist in oil spills. All excess colour is recycled to remove the water (90% of the product) and then this is reused to make other products.
Finally all our food scraps are composted to help fertilise our gorgeous frangipani’s out in the court yard.
What we as a Salon do to help
So as you can see we are always trying to better the environment we live and work in, both directly and indirectly by ensuring that if we can’t do it, that the people that we partner with can.
This is a philosophy that we all hold dear.
Till next time, please take care, have a safe and a enjoyable time and we can’t wait to look after you all through 2016!!
